VibePix ("we", "our", "the app") is developed by Avishkar Software. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

Photos you upload. Your photos are sent to our server solely to generate AI captions, stories, and poems. Photos are processed in memory and are never stored on our servers. They are discarded immediately after the AI response is generated.

Device identifier. A random UUID is generated on your device and stored locally. This is used to track your daily quota, spark balance, and entitlements. It is not linked to your identity.

Hashed IP address. We store a one-way SHA-256 hash (truncated) of your IP address for rate limiting and abuse prevention. Your raw IP address is never stored in our database.

Generation metadata. We record which format (caption, poem, story), vibe, and character voice you use, along with a timestamp. This helps us understand feature usage and improve the app. No generated content is stored.

Google or Apple account (optional). If you choose to sign in, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google or Apple. This is used solely to link your spark balance and purchases across devices. We do not access your contacts, files, or any other account data.

Purchase data. Spark pack purchases are processed by Stripe. We store the transaction event ID, SKU, and your device identifier to credit sparks. We do not store your payment card details — Stripe handles all payment processing securely.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Generate AI content from your photos (photos processed in memory only, never saved)
• Track and enforce usage quotas (daily limits, spark balances)
• Prevent abuse via rate limiting using hashed IP addresses
• Improve the app through anonymous, aggregated usage analytics
• Process spark pack purchases and credit entitlements

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not store your photos
• We do not store AI-generated captions, stories, or poems on our servers
• We do not track your precise GPS location
• We do not use your data for training AI models

4. Local Storage

The app stores the following on your device using browser local storage:

• Your device ID (random UUID)
• Saved stories and captions (gallery)
• Generation history
• UI preferences (dark mode, dismissed banners)
• Remote config cache

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser storage or app data.

5. Data Retention

• Photos: Not retained — processed in memory and immediately discarded
• Usage events: Retained as needed for analytics and service operation
• Hashed IP data: Used for rate limiting and abuse prevention
• Account data: Retained as long as necessary for service operation
• Purchase records: Retained indefinitely for accounting, support, and legal purposes

6. Third-Party Services

VibePix uses the following third-party services:

• Google Gemini API — for AI content generation. Your photo is sent to Google's API to generate text. See Google's Gemini API Terms.
• Stripe — for payment processing. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• PostHog — for anonymous product analytics (if enabled). See PostHog's Privacy Policy.
• Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In — for optional authentication. Only basic profile info (name, email) is received.

7. Advertising

VibePix displays ads provided by third-party advertising networks (including AppLovin and Google AdMob). These ad partners may collect and use certain information about your device and usage to serve relevant ads, including:

• Device identifiers (advertising ID, device model, OS version)
• General location derived from IP address (not precise GPS location)
• App usage data and interaction with ads
• Network and connection information

This data may be shared with ad networks and their partners for ad targeting, measurement, and fraud prevention. We do not control the data practices of these third-party ad providers. You can limit ad tracking through your device settings (e.g., "Limit Ad Tracking" on iOS or "Opt out of Ads Personalization" on Android).

8. AI-Generated Content

Content generated by VibePix is produced by AI and is provided as-is. Character voices are creative writing styles inspired by public figures and fictional characters — they are not impersonations or endorsements. You are solely responsible for any content you choose to share publicly.

9. Children's Privacy

VibePix is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

10. Your Options

• Local data: You can clear your browser storage or app data at any time to remove your device ID and local history
• Account unlinking: Sign out to unlink your Google or Apple account
• Limited use: You can use VibePix without signing in or providing any personal information
• Ad tracking: You can limit ad tracking through your device settings

11. Security

We use HTTPS for all data transmission. IP addresses are hashed before storage. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe's PCI-compliant infrastructure. Photos are never written to disk on our servers.

12. Acceptance of Terms

By using VibePix, you agree to the collection and use of data as described in this privacy policy. The practices outlined here represent our current commitments, but we reserve the right to collect, process, and use data generated through your use of the app to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, including for analytics, product improvement, advertising, and other lawful purposes consistent with operating and improving the service. If you do not agree with these terms, please discontinue use of the app.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of VibePix after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
